I gave Superman II a "good" and the Hulk a "tedious". But both had problems that I could not ignore.

The problems of Superman II almost pulled it down from "good" to "bad" for me. In the movie Superman gives up his powers to live a life with Lois Lane. When he eventually is forced to take them back, he has to end his relationship with Lois. When she becomes upset, he gives her The Kiss of Forgetfulness! What the hell kind of power is this? It makes no sense and nearly ruins the movie.

Another problem I had with the movie is when powerless Clark Kent gets into a fight with a bully in a diner. At the end of the film, repowered Clark Kent uses his super strength to beat the crap out of the bully. This is somewhat petty on Superman's part, but the real puzzler is that he's using his powers in front of a crowded diner in his Clark Kent guise. I'll bet he didn't give them all The Kiss of Forgetfulness.

As for the Hulk, he appears way to late in the film. 45 minutes into it to be exact. The movie also suffered because it took a cerebral approach, when the Hulk is anything but that. A friend of mine told me that when he went to see the Hulk, people talked openly and loudly during the movie. During a slow scene, one person shouted, "Vagina!".

The movie is slow, but that does not excuse the aforementioned behavior. If someone is bored, then they can always get their money back if they don't finish the film.

Comic Book Action Movies

I love comic books, so one of my first posts has to be about the movies that are made adapting them. It's kind of funny but I have a strange taste when it comes to them. I am probably the only guy in the United States who liked Daredevil and The Punisher. Otherwise a movie like Elektra that totally blew, I see posts eating up this movie. One guy at work described Elektra as "badass." Of course this guy's favorite movie is Van Helsing.

Here is my criteria to grading comic book movies:

Good-Worth seeing again.

Tedious-Worth seeing, but not for repeated viewings

Bad-Not worth seeing at all.

Of course some people may tell me that "tedious" is close to being the same thing as "bad." The tedious movies had good acting and good special effects, but they either repeated scenes over and over or they strectched their movie out way too long.

Here they are in absolutely no order. I just wrote them as they occurred to me:

X-Men (tedious)
X2 (tedious)
Hulk (tedious)
Elektra (bad)
Batman (bad)
Batman Returns (bad)
Batman Forever (good)
Batman & Robin (bad)
Spider-Man 2 (good)
Punisher (good)
Hellboy (good)
Sin City (good)
Blade II (good)
League of Extordinary Gentlemen (bad)
Spider-Man (tedious)
Superman II (good)
Superman III (bad)
Sin City (good)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I, II, and III (bad)

Comic Book Movies I have never seen and why:

Blade (DVD I rented was scratched and messed up. I'll rent it soon)
Blade Trinty (I'll get around to it)
Superman IV (Never finished it and I have no desire to)
Catwoman (I'm making it a point to never see this)
Punisher (1990 version) (Ditto)
Captain America (Double Ditto)
Spawn (Triple Ditto)
Supergirl (Quadruple Ditto)
Howard the Duck (Penta Ditto?)

An Introduction to my movie life

Here I want to analyze the trivia that goes on in the movies.
